Accessibility at the Kontakt Festival

In our commitment to making the Festival Kontakt accessible to all, we have consolidated all essential accessibility information.

Movement

The Wilam Horzyca Theater is equipped to welcome guests with mobility challenges, offering four dedicated wheelchair spaces in the main stage audience area. Wheelchair access is facilitated through a side entrance on Fosa Staromiejska Street, adjacent to the Wejściówka cafe entrance.

For guests attending performances at the Small Scene, wheelchair spaces can be reserved in advance. Located on the second floor, this venue is accessible via an external elevator, operated by trained staff. Restrooms for disabled persons are conveniently located near both stages.

The Cultural and Congress Center “Jordanki” offers accessible entry through its main entrance situated on Solidarności Avenue, designed for ground-level access, facilitating entry without the necessity of navigating stairs. Additionally, entry is available from the underground parking area via an elevator, ensuring easy access to the event venues. Restrooms equipped for individuals with disabilities are conveniently located on every level of the foyer, ensuring comfort and accessibility.

At the Pomeranian “Baj” Theater, the commitment to accessibility is evident from the ground-level entrance to the building, leading directly to the large stage located on the ground floor. Individuals using wheelchairs are accommodated in specially designated areas along the sides of the audience rows, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience. A restroom designed to meet the needs of persons with disabilities is available on the ground floor, further enhancing the accessibility of this venue.

The Small Stage of the Polish Theater in Bydgoszcz is currently undergoing renovations, affecting its accessibility. The entrance to the chamber stage, situated on the side facing Kochanowski Park along the street of January 20, 1920, is not wheelchair accessible due to stairs. However, the theater offers assistance from its staff upon prior notification of a visit by a person with mobility disabilities. While there is no access to the higher floors as the theater lacks elevators, a barrier-free area is provided in a small foyer. For convenience, three parking spaces designated for individuals with disabilities are located at Mickiewicz Alley. It is important to note that, due to the ongoing renovations, the theater currently lacks restrooms adapted for the needs of persons with disabilities.
