Based on the book by Marieke Lucas Rijneveld, this performance of Anxiety Comes at Dusk visually represents the experience of loss, how it accumulates in the body and imagination, and how the 10-year-old main character and those closest to her grapple with being trapped in a world of mourning. It also delves into the search for meaning in death and explores themes of coming of age and the end of childhood. The director crafts the visuality of the show by portraying disturbing aspects of everyday life. These observations focus on the bond between people and animals, allowing us to examine the intricate relationships within a family whose members coexist but do not necessarily connect with each other.
The performance addresses the topics of death, depression, and adolescent sexual behaviors. If you need psychological support, please call 116 111.
