The scenario for the play “New Don Quixote” contains many plays by Aleksander Fredro – more and less known. Fredro loved people, and therefore the characters of his plays are so diverse and colorful: noble, quarrelsome, perverse, vindictive, funny, hardened in their beliefs, naïve, romantically amorous and calculating. However, all of them are presented favorably. Dressed in a comedy form, they evoke a smile and positive feelings of the spectator.
“New Don Quixote” is a story about the life of a man who is looking for that one and only woman, this one – true – love. Along with the hero, we go through successive stages of his search. We get to know the people whom he had to encounter, the women who were the objects of his sighs. And the question – will the hero at the end say “yes” or “I can not marry,” we will now leave unanswered.
