THE LAST BUT ONE TEMPTATION OF BILL DRUMMOND is the third proposal (following “Medea” and “Justine”) of Marcin Wierzchowski in Toruń theater. His original project is an experiment in which theater and performance border.
23.08.1994 Drummond and Cauty (K Foundation) in the presence of two witnesses burn 1,000,000 pounds and record their act on video.
Was it a crime?
Burnt sacrifice?
Madness?
Investment?
Pornography
Rock’n’roll?
Art?
Political gesture?
Nonsense?
Why did K Foundation burn a million pounds?
23.08.1995 – 05.11.1995 JC and BD show the movie and ask the residents of Jura, Manchester, Belgrade and Glasgow the above mentioned questions. Other cities are waiting in a queue…
On November 5, 1995 K Foundation suspends its activities. At Cape Wrath, on the hood of Nissan Blubirda, JC and BD write down their contract with the world, giving it 23 years to think about their gesture and respond. The countdown still continues.
THE LAST BUT ONE TEMPTATION OF BILL DRUMMOND is perhaps the first public attempt to answer. Come. See. Experience. Speak. Do not sit back doing nothing. October 3, 2009 3,315 days remained until the day zero.
