“Hamlet” is the first of the great Shakespearean tragedy. On Toruń stage for the last time it was realized in 1970. In the current season, Shakespeare’s text will be challenged by the director of the younger generation, Małgorzata Bogajewska. Hamlet sees the ghost of Hamlet-father, the old king, who confesses to Prince the truth about his death. He was murdered by his brother – the present king. Young Hamlet is bound by honor to fulfill his filial role – to avenge the father’s murder. From now on Hamlet confronts the lies with the reality, putting friendship and love at stake. He grows a murderer in himself, slowly matures to a crime. In Toruń performance, the world is full of pain and the clown follows each tragedy.
