Polish contemporary drama. The study of the so-called average family. Mother and father talk about son. They try to build, together with their daughter, the portrait of a maturing boy. From short statements, a clear, painful picture of each of them emerges: a violent father, a bitter and insensitive mother, and most of all a teenager – lonely, sensitive, lost, mistrustful, who cannot establish contact with anyone, even with his closest family. The son can only talk to God. Every characters’ statement exposes new events in the life of the family and their impact on the transformation of the teenager from an unruly boy into a person full of hatred, who cannot manage his emotions. What causes growing aggression in the man, that the statements of the same person can change from “Dear Lord! I love you very much. (…) I ask you about love” to “I do not want to live among people”, “I see evil everywhere”, I’m losing faith in humanity”. Some of the situations described in the play often occur just behind a wall in the so-called average family, but they do not end in tragedy, as in the case described by Tomasz Man.
